Ms. Cindy, a respiratory therapist, wanted to do two main things when she chose to do her photo session with Lee’s Photography.

“I wanted to surprise my husband with a special anniversary gift,” she said. “I wanted to celebrate me losing weight and keeping it off for over 10 years. I wanted to face my fears about being over 40 and that you can still look amazing and have fun at any age. Without a doubt, all expectations were met. From the makeup to the photography session, I was made to feel beautiful and special.  My favorite part was the different outfit changes. I was made to feel confident and comfortable with my body even though I was way outside of my comfort zone. I also liked the final results. It is an amazing confidence boosting and liberating experience. All women need to experience this.”

In addition to her husband, Cindy’s family also includes her mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. Support from family allowed Cindy, at the age of 56, to go back to school to reach another career goal.

“I decided to go back for mortuary science and have been a licensed funeral director/embalmer for the last four years.”

If she could change one thing about herself, she said it would be this: “Learn to say no more and take care of me better.”

Her motto is simple: ‘live your life and forget about your age; you are never too old and it’s never too late.”

And here’s her advice to her 20-something self: “Do not compare yourself to others. Be you.”

On her bucket list, she would like to travel to at least one new place every year. And check out how she thinks attractive should be defined.

“Attractive is confidence, intelligence, a sense of humor, sense of style, compassion and empathy for others and a non-judgmental attitude and demeanor.”
