Ms. Keena wanted to see things through a different lens when she signed up to participate in her 40-Over-40 session.

“I did this to maybe see the beauty that others saw in me for myself. It exceeded my expectations. My favorite part was the different clothes and changing them for different looks.”

An avid reader, Keena, 47, says having her son has been her greatest achievement in life. Her immediate family also includes her husband.

“Being a mother is the thing I am most passionate about.”

As a social worker, her most rewarding job has been working with Hospice because she says she can serve others in need.

Keena’s favorite motto is: “Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future” and while she is quite fulfilled in her current job, she also has future ambitions.

“I would like to advance my education and become Dr. Keena,” she said.

She quickly dispelled one myth about people over 40.

“One myth is that over 40 is a bad thing. I am having the time of my life.”
