Meet Ms. April, a 43-year-old nurse originally from Bogata, TX now residing in Scroggins. She recently took part in the 40 Over 40 Portrait Experience, and here’s her story:

“I wanted to give my husband something for Christmas/birthday that he never expected me to do,” Ms. April shares. Additionally, she wanted to surprise him in a special way.

The session exceeded Ms. April’s expectations, leaving her with an overwhelming sense of fulfillment. “Furthermore, it was an amazing experience,” she expresses.

Reflecting on her favorite part of the session, Ms. April highlights the way Rhonda, the photographer, made her feel. “Rhonda makes you feel like you are beautiful and she doesn’t judge your imperfections,” she said.

The session has had a positive impact on Ms. April. “Moreover, I have been able to move out of my comfort zone. Consequently, I’ve been able to wear sexier things in front of my husband,” she shares.

Ms. April’s immediate family includes her husband Brad and their children Blake, Braden, and Pooty (Braden). Additionally, a fun fact about Ms. April is that she and her husband have three baby spider monkeys named Clyde, Clara, and Cruz.

If she could change one thing about herself, Ms. April said, “I would love to be more confident in myself & not worry so much about what others think of me.”

Offering advice to her younger self, Ms. April emphasizes the importance of self-care. “Moreover, life is short, and tomorrow isn’t promised. Therefore, do things for yourself daily that make you feel good,” she advises.

Reflecting on her journey as a mother, Ms. April shares wisdom gained over the years. “Everything will be ok! You are going to make mistakes but they will still love you & you definitely don’t have to be their friend (that is not your job),” she said.

April’s favorite trait about herself is her ability to love others and make them feel good about themselves, thus helping them find their confidence.
