Meet Ms. Teresa, 57 years old, originally from Mt Vernon, TX, and still residing there as an Office Manager.

“I felt like I needed to do it for myself. I’m finally to a place in my life that I can honestly say I love who I am inside and out. It’s been a very long journey to get to this moment,” Ms. Teresa shared, reflecting on her decision to join the 40 Over 40 portrait experience.

The session fulfilled her expectations. “I loved my session. Rhonda made me feel so good about myself and helped me embrace it and really be all in,” she shared. Her favorite part was all of it…from getting ready all the way to the end of the day.

She encouraged her best friend to join, saying, “It was amazing and I feel like I gained a lot of confidence in myself as a result.”

Ms. Teresa’s journey has indeed been a mix of highs and lows. She reflected, “I’ve experienced some great times, yet also some really hard times. My life has been far from perfect. Nevertheless, I can say…I’ve made it and come out on the other side with the help of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Her immediate family includes her three sons and their families, with her grandbabies being the greatest love of her life. 

Her greatest achievement?  Raising her kids.

“One fun fact about me is that the best days of my life started when I became a Gram,” Ms. Teresa said.

“Do not stay in a bad marriage!” she advised her 20-something self. “Stop worrying so much,” she’d also tell her younger self when she was a young mother.

Her motto is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Ms. Teresa is most passionate about her family.

Confidence radiates from her at this stage of her life. “It only gets better!” she exclaimed.

She would like people to describe her as a good friend, the best mother, and grandmother. Her favorite trait about herself? “That I can overcome a lot of adversity.”

“I still feel 22 so while your body ages, your heart does not!” she debunked the myth about being over 40.
