Nurse, educator, and professor, Ms. Alberta was looking for a different experience when she found out about the 40 Over 40 portrait experience.

“I wanted to try something new,” she said. “It exceeded my expectations. It was time well spent. Don’t hesitate or second guess doing this. Just do it.”

Passionate about asking why and not just accepting whatever is said, Ms. Alberta considers being a mother as two great gifts from God.

“The advice I would give myself when I was a young mother was to hold on and realize it does get better with time.”

In time, once she retires, Ms. Alberta, 59, would like to “enjoy life and take time to really see the tiny moments that testify or validate the fact that we are loved.”

Ms. Alberta, who resides in Marshall, also has a very different take on what attractive means to her now versus what it did years ago.
